Derin Beren Yalcin
Born in 1999 in Istanbul and raised in London, Derin Beren Yalcin is an architect and designer. She holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in architecture from the University of Edinburgh.
After working at several architectural practices in London, Yalcin founded her studio, Derin Beren, in 2024. Her work focuses on furniture design, informed by architectural thinking and a strong interest in form, space, and material.
“I don’t believe in perfection. Because I am not perfect, my work cannot be either — and that is where its value lies. Each piece is a form of self-critique, inviting others to see their own reflections within it.”
Approaching furniture as both object and structure, Yalcin explores the balance between concept and function. Her designs are rooted in clarity and intention, combining sculptural qualities with everyday use. Through simple forms and careful detailing, she seeks to create pieces that quietly shape the way people experience space.
Working across design and architecture, Derin Beren’s practice reflects a measured and thoughtful approach to furniture design.
