AB+AC Architects
AB+AC Architects is an international multidisciplinary studio based in Lisbon, operating at the intersection of architecture, well-being, and futurism. Founded by Arianna Bavuso and Andre Chedid, the practice pioneers a neuro-architectural approach that integrates design, research, and teaching to create spaces and objects that foster self-care, nervous system regulation, and long-term regeneration.
Arianna Bavuso (born in Italy, 1991) is an architect, artist, and researcher. She leads the studio’s architectural vision from concept through detailed design, translating scientific insights into spatial projects and artworks that investigate how the built environment shapes emotion, behavior, and health. Andre Chedid (born in USA, 1986) is an architect by training and former musician who oversees project management and construction processes, ensuring technical rigor and execution quality.
“I see architecture and objects as active agents — not passive forms — capable of shaping how we feel, behave, and ultimately who we become. If an environment can stress us, it can also heal us. My purpose is to use art and design as tools to consciously regulate the nervous system and restore balance.”
In 2025, Bavuso debuted her first limited-edition collection, Alma Mater, at Alcova on the occasion of Art Basel Miami, marking her expansion from immersive installations and architectural environments into functional art and collectible design objects for ritual and meditation. This body of work explores how spaces and objects can become vessels for personal growth, stimulating healthier habits and nurturing emotional and spiritual well-being.
Bavuso received her Bachelor of Architecture cum laude from Politecnico di Milano and a Master’s degree in Urbanism & Societal Change from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. Prior to founding AB+AC, she worked at Aires Mateus (Lisbon), Gehl Architects (Copenhagen), Superimpose Architecture (Beijing), and Buro Ole Scheeren (Beijing).
Her work have been exhibited internationally, including at Dubai, Milan, and Miami Design Weeks, and have received major recognitions such as the Architizer A+Award, IF Design Award, Iconic Innovative Architecture Award, Loop Design Award, and finalist or shortlisted for multiple Dezeen, ArchDaily, and Interior Design Awards. The studio’s practice has been widely published in international architecture and design media.
