DESIGNER

Angelo Donghia

Angelo Donghia was an American interior designer and the founder of New York–based Donghia Associates, recognized with a Hall of Fame award for his many contributions to the design field. Born in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, and trained at Parsons School of Design, he built one of the most influential design practices of his generation.

In 1968 he launched Vice Versa, a collection of fabrics, followed in 1970 by the design firm that still bears his name. Donghia Showrooms and the Donghia Furniture Company soon extended his reach across textiles, furniture and interiors. His signature interior style was sought after by a wide circle of corporate and residential clients, shaping the look of American design in the second half of the twentieth century.
