Unordinary Objects
Throughout his work, Andrea Branzi challenged the idea of design as a self-contained object, opening it instead to architecture, nature, memory and the symbolic dimension of everyday life. An approach that resonates with Nilufar’s curatorial practice, where objects are continuously reframed through relationships, unexpected associations and changing spatial contexts.
From the totemic presence of Grandi Legni, a collection of unique specimens of large dimensions accomplished by Design Gallery Milano and Nilufar, to the lighter structures of Diagrammi, Branzi’s work moves across materials, scales and functions, dissolving the boundaries between matter and environment, natural and artificial, utility and contemplation.
This long-standing dialogue continues today, with one of Nilufar’s Grandi Legni featured in the exhibition Andrea Branzi by Toyo Ito: Continuous Present at Triennale Milano, while a selection of his works retraces a practice conceived as an open and continuously evolving system.
