Carved solid wood
A. Vicente, M. Vasconcellos, Movel Moderno Brasileiro, Olhares, 2018 pp. 162-3
Carved from solid Pequi wood, this rare armchair embodies the monolithic style adopted by José Zanine Caldas to emphasize the sculptural materiality of wood. Its bold, organic form reflects a deep connection to nature and aligns with the poetic ethos of Brazilian modernist design
