Ancestral Ainu is a unique series of drawings by Andrea Zucchi, portraying the Ainu, an indigenous ethnic group living in the far north of Japan. With strong animistic and shamanistic traditions, Ainu people are believed to descend from the ancient and mysterious J?mon culture. In his work, Zucchi sought to highlight their peculiar ornamental traditions, transcending ethnic references and drawing on an ancestral and timeless vision.
