Stoneware with “bianco Zauli” glaze
Produced in Italy between 1977 and 1978, this Column sculpture is part of the third phase of Carlo Zauli’s career, a period defined by his exploration of geometric forms and sculptural experimentation. His work is characterized by a continuous evolution and metamorphosis, driven by an ongoing exploration of nature’s forms and their relationship with humanity. During this phase, Zauli experimented with various techniques, developing a unique color known as “bianco Zauli.” This distinctive tone was the result of an innovative firing process, where stoneware was heated to 1200 degrees, giving it a fresh, characteristic quality.
