Etienne Marc’s Still life series celebrates nature’s decaying beauty
Nilufar and Etienne Marc share a commitment to discovering innovative shapes that offer a fresh perspective on design. As part of Ex Terrā, the collective exhibition at Nilufar Via della Spiga, the evocative Still Life series completes the artistic landscape with sculptural furniture suspended between function and transformation.
Working with ceramic, resin, and salvaged steel, the collection draws on natural imperfections—oxidation, fractures, irregular textures—to inform its forms. Surface treatments such as oil paint and bronze leaf evoke the aged patinas of Villa Médici. These new works, including mirrors with botanical imprints, reflect a shift toward expressive minimalism, where each piece exists at the intersection of nature and design.
