Murano glass mouth blown with mica inclusions
An exploration of materials and their transformative potential lies at the heart of the Alchemia series, a collection of vases that bridges ancient craft with a contemporary sensibility. Drawing on the age-old art of mouth-blown glassmaking from Murano, each piece is a singular expression of fluid form and dynamic texture. Embedded within the molten glass are delicate fragments of mica, a naturally shimmering mineral that subtly disrupts the uniformity of the surface. As the glass cools, these inclusions create a striking, irregular interplay of light and shadow. Its blemishes are not flaws but rather integral to the object’s character. The result is a surface that appears in constant flux, catching light at unexpected angles and inviting closer inspection.
