Giovani e Stupidi lamps by Maximilian Marchesani stem from a reflection on the disruption of ecosystems caused by industrial processes. They embody a hybrid ecosystem where organic matter and technology coexist in a state of tension. Made from aggregates of soil—an organic material already altered by industrial residues and contamination—the lamps crystallize into fragile architectures. Technology, in the form of electrical wiring, is absorbed by the mass and reduced to its primary function. Stripped of aesthetic intent, what it produces—light—emerges as a necessary, almost biological presence. The lamps thus become an example of a nature that adapts to intrusion, mutates its own codes, and negotiates new equilibriums, accepting geometries and functions beyond human design.
