Designed by Clara Schweers, the Portale mirrors reimagine the mirror as a domestic portal between realities. Rooted in the lineage of the magic mirror from fairy tales to cinematic effects, the reflective surface becomes a site of doubling, truth and passage. Referencing the Snow White mirror engraved with “Amour Propre,” the mirror is activated as a speaking surface of self affirmation. Oval fluid forms destabilize fixed reflection where body and alter ego coexist through everyday rituals. Translated from digital motion files into glass, Schweers’ works turn game engine gestures into fragile precise mirrors bridging virtual movement and material presence.
