Blown glass
A striking example of Italian lighting from the late 1960s, the Tronchi ceiling chandelier reflects the sculptural experimentation that defined the era. Composed of numerous blown glass elements arranged in cascading layers, the fixture transforms light into a luminous architectural presence. The name Tronchi—Italian for “trunks”—derives from the distinctive shape of its glass components. Each cylindrical piece resembles a small section of a tree trunk, thick and textured, allowing light to pass through the glass in soft, refracted glows. When assembled together, these elements create a rhythmic composition that evokes both organic forms and modernist geometry.
