A Goodbye to “100 Chairs in 100 Days” by Martino Gamper

After nearly two decades in the Nilufar collection and a layered exhibition history, Martino Gamper‘s 100 Chairs in 100 Days has been acquired in its entirety by a major international museum institution, whose name will be revealed in the coming months. Created in London in 2007, the project transformed discarded chairs into one hundred singular works over one hundred consecutive days.

By dismantling, grafting and recombining found chairs, Gamper explored the transformative potential of existing objects, opening up broader reflections on authorship, value and the evolving nature of design. Its acquisition marks a significant new chapter in a journey that Nilufar‘s founder Nina Yashar has been honoured to accompany from the very beginning.
