DESIGNER
Aida Bergsen
Aida Bergsen is a jeweller and sculptor who creates narrative-rich “wearable sculptures” inspired by her childhood in Nicosia and the cultural tapestry of Istanbul. Trained in sculpture since 1990, she later turned to fine jewellery, studying at Central Saint Martins and apprenticing in Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar, ultimately mastering lost-wax carving.
Following the artistic legacy of her father, Fikri Direkoğlu, Bergsen’s work blends mythological themes with meticulous craftsmanship. Her creations have earned multiple honours, including awards from BIJORHCA, the ELLE Style Awards, the COUTURE Show Las Vegas, and the INDESIGN Awards.
