DESIGNER
Archimede Seguso

Archimede Seguso (1909–1999) was a master Venetian glassmaker who played a crucial role in reviving traditional glassblowing techniques in Murano. From a long line of glassmakers, Seguso began his training at age 11 and became a maestro by 20. In 1933, he took over the family business, Seguso Vetri d’Arte, before founding Vetreria Artistica Archimede Seguso in 1946. Known for his innovative designs, he became the leading glassmaker of his time, creating iconic light fixtures for public spaces during Italy’s post-war reconstruction.
