Carlo De Carli

Born in Milan, Carlo De Carli (1910-1999) graduated in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1934. He worked for a year in the studio of Gio Ponti, and in 1962, he succeeded him in the Chair of Interior Architecture, Furniture, and Decoration. Curator of the 10th and 11th Milan Triennale, he was Dean of the Faculty of Architecture from 1965 to 1968. From 1967 to 1971, he directed the magazine Interni.

Design, research, teaching, and promotion were the areas of his work, carried out with a coherent mindset focused on people and the social and productive context in which he operated. For De Carli, there is no different approach between designing a house or a chair:
