Gastone Rinaldi

It was founded in Padua in 1920 by Mario Rinaldi, founder in 1916 of the RIMA furniture factory, which he took over in 1948 together with his brother Giorgio. In the post-war period, the family business quickly became a leader in the sector and collaborated with designers of the calibre of Giò Ponti, Carlo Mollino, Alberto Rosselli, Franco Campo and Carlo Graffi, Michele De Lucchi and Marco Zanuso. In 1951, they presented the DU9, DU10, and DU11 chairs in the Hospital Furniture section of the IX Triennale di Milano and in 1954 won the Compasso d’Oro Award with the DU30 chair, and later, the same award in 1981 was given to the Dafne and Aurora chairs.
