Gianfranco Frattini

Gianfranco Frattini (1926–2004) was a renowned Italian architect and designer. After graduating from Milan Polytechnic in 1953, he joined Gio Ponti’s studio and later collaborated with Cesare Cassina. A founding member of ADI, he opened his own studio in Milan and worked with companies like Bernini, Arteluce, and Artemide, designing the iconic ‘Boalum’ lamp with Livio Castiglioni.

Known for his love of wood, Frattini also made an impact in interior architecture with projects like Milan’s Stork Club and the Hilton Hotel in Tokyo. His work earned numerous awards, and his designs are held in major design museums worldwide.
