Gio Ponti

Born in Milan in 1891, Gio Ponti graduated from the Milan Politecnico in 1921 and set up his studio, associating with Mino Fiocchi and Emilio Lancia. They worked together unti 1933, producing interior design projects and furniture designs before moving on to collaboration with Antonio Fornaroli and Eugenio Soncini. Throughout his career Ponti was also experimenting with design, working extensively for Cassina, Artemide, Fontana, and Venini. In 1928 he also founded Domus magazine which he directed until his death in 1979.
