Hicham Ghandour
Hicham Gandhour was born in 1958 in the capital of Lebanon, Beirut. Having spent 33 years in New York City, he moved back in his home country in 2011 and is currently living in Beirut. Gandhour studied furniture restoration at Fashion Institute of technology in New York City and specialized in gilding restoration at Instituto per l’Arte e il Restauro (Palazzo Spinelli) in Florence, Italy.
"In my designs I tend to mix materials where it is unexpected."
This specialization was the first footstep into a career in furniture and gilded objects that started in 2002. He worked for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and with Ralph Lauren Home. From 2016 he has been designing exclusive pieces of furniture for Nilufar Gallery.
