Karl Springer (1931–1991) was a pioneering American furniture designer, known for his bold blend of sophistication and rawness. Born in Berlin, he immigrated to New York in 1957, where he initially worked as a window dresser before launching a line of exotic leather accessories. His designs, characterized by luxurious materials and refined craftsmanship, quickly gained fame, attracting high-profile clients like the Duchess of Windsor. In the 1970s, he expanded into full-scale furniture, collaborating with Mark Eckman and opening a major showroom in New York.
