Nikolas Gambaroff, born in Germany in 1979, studied at the Universität der Künste in Berlin and earned an MFA from Bard College in New York in 2007. Currently based in New York, Gambaroff’s work can be described as meta-paintings. His abstract compositions emerge through conceptual processes, with closer examination revealing them as simulations of traditional painting techniques.
