Paavo Tynell
(Helsinki, 1890 – Tuusula, 1973)
Fondly dubbed as “the man who illuminated Finland”, Paavo Tynell is considered a pioneer in the field of lighting design. Founder of the Oy Taito Ab company, he created lamps with an essential style and delicate aesthetics taking inspiration from the forms of nature. In a continuous balance between elegance and curiosity, he favored materials such as metal, brass or wicker, wrought and carved with a masterful technique.
