Design Spotlight: Bethan Laura Wood

English designer Bethan Laura Wood explores the intimate connections individuals form with everyday objects. She employs a rich palette of colors and enjoys blurring the line between two-dimensional decoration and three-dimensional form. For her 2022 Summer Room exhibit curated by Nilufar, she captivated with intriguing imagery that played with wood veneers from Italy’s ALPI. Her furniture designs used a striking distorted wave motif inspired by her love of Meisen silk fabric used to make kimonos. Bethan Laura Wood’s Meisen collection of cabinets feature abstract, multi-colored displays on the front panels of the furnishings. The result is a series of impactful designs that become conversation pieces for the home.
