Conceived by Anna Zoe Hamm within the Tenderlymilitant.exe series, this broom armoury reimagines the domestic object as a site of care and resistance. Drawing from the militant intelligence of the plant kingdom, the broomstick becomes a tool that both protects and sets boundaries, challenging its historical association with submissive labour. Once tied to systems of oppression and the policing of care, particularly during witch hunts, the broom is here reactivated through gestures inspired by aikido and everyday choreography. Through this shift, the work proposes tenderness not as passivity but as a deliberate and transformative force, capable of resisting and reshaping emotional and social structures.
