Originally an investigation into handles, whose detailed construction became jewelry for furniture, this project evolved into cabinets and a desk with curvaceous forms in ALPI veneer. Fascinated by Meisen Kimonos and Ikat tapestry, Bethan selected veneers sheets highlighting ripples resembling weaving patterns. Combining natural and manmade elements, the pieces echo East Asian cabinets and insect anatomy. Developed for Bethan’s Ornate solo show at Nilufar Gallery, each piece is unique.
