Designed by Gabriella Crespi in the 1970s, Monsieur Madame is a rare chest of drawers from the Unicum series (1970–1979). Crafted in wood with polished brass panels, this exceptional piece belongs to a group of unique creations that embody Crespi’s sculptural and poetic vision. Conceived as a quick-change object, Monsieur Madame explores duality and transformation through an origami-like composition of drawers unfolding on both sides, intersected by deep diagonal grooves that produce illusionistic, almost Escherian effects. A testament to Crespi’s mastery in merging geometry, light, and material into a single dynamic form.
