Brass, golden leaf, mirror
Designed by Filippo Carandini, the Linae mirror emphasizes geometry, movement, and the invisible paths traced by reflections. Named after the Latin word for “lines”, it features two large circular brass plates, each supporting a gold mirror with beveled edges that rotates left and right on specially designed, machined supports. Their movement creates shifting reflections, where one mirror can reflect the other, evoking a sense of double vision and subtle mystery. Entirely clad in gold leaf, the brass surfaces enhance the sense of depth and luminosity, revealed only when the frames pivot away from the wall. When aligned parallel to the wall, the mirrored surfaces dominate, glowing in a continuous golden field.
