Carved from solid Pequi wood, this rare armchair embodies the monolithic style adopted by José Zanine Caldas to emphasize the sculptural materiality of wood. Its bold, organic form reflects a deep connection to nature and aligns with the poetic ethos of Brazilian modernist design. A similar example was featured in the exhibition invitation flyer of Caldas’s 1975 solo show at the Museum of Art of São Paulo.
