The collection builds on designs language that merges floral elements with an Art Deco influence, bridging the aesthetics of the 19th-century Venetian grotto style. This synthetic approach evolves toward a more direct and expressive gesture, emphasizing structural clarity and raw materials in a refined minimalism. Metals in these works are salvaged from ruins—fragments shaped by time and decay. Rather than imposing form, the design emerges from their inherent textures, embracing imperfection and revealing the raw beauty of oxidation, fractures, and irregularities. Surface treatments, including oil painting and bronze leaf, draw inspiration from the patinas covering the walls of Villa Médici, dating back to Balthus’ directorship. Each piece exists at the intersection of sculpture and function.
