3D collage: soft dark base of recycled technical polyester textile, borosilicate blown glass, “quipu” – interwine, coloured and knotted, pre‐columbian plait
The Zoe vessels take their name from the Greek word for life. Conceived as 3D collages, they are an assemblage of three components: a clear vase, a dark base and a hand-knotted cord. Far from being merely decorative, the last element refers to Quipu, the symbolic system of the pre-Columbian Inca civilization, used for astronomical calculations, magic formulas, and recording historical events.
