Collected in the Palestro Gardens in Milan, branches and feathers both belong to terrestrial creatures mutated by environmental changes. Harry Lauder’s walking stick (Corylus Avellana Contorta) has been domesticated by man through severe pruning techniques for over 10,000 years. The artificial intervention interferes with the natural development of the branches, forging their characteristic curls and knots. Parakeets (Psittacula Krameri) have been introduced in Europe for decorative purposes in the 1970s. Native of the tropical and subtropical areas of Africa and Asia, following a human error, they spread contaminating European fauna and flora. A counterpart for these natural elements, electrical wiring inserted into the grooves maintain the balance of the suspension between the two worlds.
