Squat 2 - Paris 2013
Hôtel de Miramion
47 Quai de la Tournelle
Paris, France
Nilufar exits from the spaces of its gallery to occupy an historical monument of the 16th century in Paris. SPOT is the Parisian edition of SQUAT, a project created by Nina Yashar, to show a unique mixture between design, art and architecture. It is a real "artistic occupation" of Hôtel de Miramion, where historical design, art pieces and contemporary works converse with the space, the atmosphere and the story of this extraordinary location. A design path of 15 rooms, presenting even special pieces created for the occasion, where it is possible to walk through a new decorative dimension. SPOT 2013 is a unique creative collaboration between Galleria Nilufar, Balice Hertling (Paris) and Giò Marconi Gallery (Milan).
In the luxurious and historical setting of a 16th century Hôtel Particulier, SPOT showcases Nina Yashar’s visionary eclecticism through a meeting of contemporary works with historical design and art pieces. The Hôtel de Miramion, at 47 Quai de la Tournelle, is the location of the “artistic occupation”. The building, attributed to François Mansart, one of the founders of Baroque Classicism, is the perfect home for this adventure that questions the boundaries in current curatorial practice and creates a new space for the exhibition of these works of art and design.
