Designed by Made by ASTRONAUTS, the Rocking Chair Margaret draws on the historical threads linking early modern witch trials to culturally charged constructions of womanhood. Between the 15th and 17th centuries, female healers and caregivers, carriers of embodied knowledge, were systematically marginalised as emerging medical and religious institutions sought to displace non institutional forms of care. Within this framework, the rocking chair becomes a sculptural form that evokes care, repetition and generativity, reflecting on nurturing as both lived labour and a historically politicised site of female agency and resistance.
