Nilufar returns to PAD London to reaffirm its singular curatorial vision by way of a dialogue between vintage icons and contemporary collectible design. Under the direction of founder Nina Yashar, the gallery presents two evocative displays that trace the evolution of form and material—from 20th-century masters to today’s most daring creators.
The main booth unveils a poetic interplay of materials—bronze, glass, resin and wood—through the works of Allegra Hicks, Bethan Laura Wood, Christian Pellizzari, Etienne Marc, Filippo Carandini, Flavie Audi, Gal Gaon and Hechizoo. Each piece, a reflection on transformation and craftsmanship, engages with the visionary designs from Gabriella Crespi, Guy Lefevre, Maria Pergay, Paul Evans, Paul László, Giuseppe Scapinelli, Walter & Moretti and Josè Zanine Caldas. Together, they compose a narrative where contemporary experimentation meets the enduring legacy of designs from the past.
A dedicated second booth celebrates the collaboration between Nilufar and Delhi-based Vikram Goyal. Known for his mastery of traditional Indian techniques, the designer introduces a new body of work that balances the rigour of structural integrity with sculptural fluidity and the raw tactility of hammered metal.
