Nilufar unveils the latest collection by Vikram Goyal, marking the Delhi-based designer’s third appearance at PAD London. Known for his mastery of metal and contemporary reinterpretation of traditional Indian techniques, Goyal introduces a bold new body of work that further expands his sculptural language.
The collection spans lighting, mirrors, and monumental furniture. Central to the display is the Bagh series, inspired by the flora of India’s historic gardens. Delicately decorative and technically complex, these works are counterbalanced by a group of architectural forms, including the Palazzo and Grand Castello consoles, and the Mesa cabinet, each rendered in patinated or nickel-finished brass using advanced repoussé and hollowed joinery techniques.
A highlight of the installation, the Thar wall sconces stretch across two walls in a 16-foot configuration. Their rippling surfaces, clad in hundreds of individually hand-cut and hammered brass segments, evoke the undulating dunes of India’s desert landscapes, as a meeting of material rigor and expressive form.
