Designed by Gio Ponti for the Hotel Parco dei Principi, Roma
Created for Hotel Parco dei Principi of Sorrento in the 1960s, this console exemplifies the last period of Gio Ponti’s career. Featuring only wood and light-blue, and a simple yet captivating shape, this piece stands as a timeless icon. A multidisciplinary talent, Gio Ponti investigated art, architecture and design through continuous research into shapes, materials and the essence of reality. Ponti believed that design transcended mere functionality, seeking to harmonize form, creativity, beauty and efficiency.
