This maquette is a spirit house which harbors and houses the local spirits that roam about in nature, in the woods and waters. It is a popular tradition especially all over Southeast Asia. The model house is generally placed in the open and therefor have very often an eroded appearance. This maquette did serve outside but was probably somehow covered. Is about 40 years old up to mid 20th century.
