Wall lamp Floralia
Floralia is a light design project by Gupica for Nilufar, presented at Fuorisalone 2024. Taking cues from ancient Roman “Ludi Florales” - offerings to the goddess Flora, the protectress of spring and blossoms - , it’s an ode to nature and rebirth. The project suggests a climbing vine, with lampshades in the form of larger-thanlife stylized flowers anchored to composable modular structures. They simulate structures and supports for growing plants, and allow the lamps to be arranged in various configurations, creating striking lighting installations. The green fabric cords mimic botanical stems, each feeding its own flower-lamp and climbing from below to leave the structure free to be moved around. Light bounces among the metal flower petals, creating evocative reflections that play off one another in the structural geometry of the design.
