SIGNATURE ROOM | ALLEGRA HICKS

Within the Nilufar Grand Hotel exhibition at Nilufar Depot, Allegra Hicks presents the project for a signature guestroom, conceived not merely as a place for rest, but as a space to inhabit, move through, and feel. An environment of protection and quiet reflection.

The suite is animated by essential furnishings, conceived as subtle presences
accompanying the body from day to night. The Trame di Confine collection, presented here for the first time, brings together contrasting materials: solid, sculptural bronze meets the softness of crochet, while painted and resin-coated canvas surfaces introduce layered, pictorial textures that define planes and points of light. Each element — bed, mirror, screen, wall lights, floor lamp, and bench — emerges from a delicate balance of material, artisanal gesture, and structure.

Rooted in craftsmanship, the collection revolves around the concept of perimeter. Bronze frames trace boundaries that protect without enclosing, creating thresholds between visible and invisible, between interior and exterior. In the Cosmos bed, a velvet-upholstered headboard is embraced by an organic crochet frame that expands and contracts like a breath, transforming the perimeter from geometric rigidity into a living, adaptable form. Soft volumes, tactile surfaces, and rhythmic lines turn the suite into an emotional, immersive landscape, suspended between function and contemplation.

The new pieces enter into dialogue with works from the Metamorphosis collection, such as the Skin rug and the Metamorphosis sofa, which explore the transformative power of materials. These are paired with a selection of vintage works, including low tables by Gabriella Crespi, a pair of armchairs by Osvaldo Borsani, and Murano glass lamps produced by Salviati.

Completing the interior is a throw by Tabasso 1872, chosen as a
refined material accent.
