Nilufar makes its debut at the inaugural edition of NOMAD Abu Dhabi 2025 with a presentation curated by its founder, Nina Yashar, that exemplifies her pioneering curatorial language: an ever-evolving dialogue between historical significance and contemporary exploration.
“I’m truly excited to be part of NOMAD Abu Dhabi for the first time,” says Nina Yashar. “I’ve supported NOMAD since its earliest editions, dating back to 2018 in Monaco, and it’s a pleasure to bring Nilufar to a new territory. This marks one of our first activations in the region, and I look forward to connecting with a new audience that shares our passion for design rooted in history, craftsmanship, and innovation.”
For this special occasion, Nilufar brings together a refined conste lation of design voices, ranging from vintage icons to emerging talents, offering a nuanced reading of material culture across time. Rather than focusing on singular pieces, the exhibition unfolds as a narrative, bridging eras, geographies, and sensibilities together, where artisanal heritage, experimentation and elegance converge.
“The curatorial selection for this debut was made with intention,” Yashar continues. “I chose to present artists and designers whose practices resonate with the cultural and aesthetic fabric of this region, voices I believe can spark meaningful dialogue and inspire new perspectives.”
Yashar’s curatorship, once again, cha lenges linear readings of design history, inviting visitors into a space where Gio Ponti converses with contemporary creators like Osanna Visconti, StudioDanielK, Etereo and Christian Pellizzari. The result is a compe ling meditation on how design can hold memory while projecting new futures.
