Pietro Ruffo
Pietro Ruffo (Rome, 1978) is one of the most appreciated young Italian artists, studied architecture at the University of Rome before beginning a research fellowship at the Italian Academy for advanced studies Columbia University, New York, 2010.
Ruffo’s art is essentially connected to the basic elements of his architecture education: project, paper drawing. Along an intense path of research, the work of Ruffo frees itself without forcing the theoretical dimension and finds synthesis in extraordinary figurative compositions, made with paper cutouts and pins, ceramic, tiles, or painting, articulated in superimpositions of natural landscapes and human forms, geographical maps and constellations, geometries and traces of writing.
