Shiro Kuramata

Shirō Kuramata (1934-1991) was a Japanese designer. He is considered one of the most important Japanese designers of the 20th century. His style combines the refinement of Japan's traditional decorative arts with the essentiality characteristic of modern design. Also notable was his contribution in the search for new materials, particularly in the area of transparent polymethylmethacrylate.
