Design Spotlight: Vikram Goyal

New Delhi-based Vikram Goyal has dedicated two decades to refining his contemporary design language, infusing his work with a modern take on Indian cultural traditions that lead to surprisingly conceptual creations. He channels artisanal techniques of the past and translates them into timeless designs that resonate with a wide audience.
Goyal designs limited-edition furniture by drawing on specialist artisans from across India to make new, abstract interpretations of form. He explores Indian metalwork traditions and his studio creates collectible designs focused on metal, particularly brass, with innovative craftspeople utilizing traditional techniques such as repoussé, pietra dura, and hollowed joinery.
Goyal’s collaboration with Nilufar began in 2023 during Milan Design Week with a dedicated space showcasing his sculptural furniture and lighting pieces. The same year he presented the first solo exhibition by a contemporary Indian designer at PAD London, where Nilufar also devoted a booth to his work this year.
