DESIGN SPOTLIGHT: OBJECTS OF COMMON INTEREST

Nilufar is proud to showcase the engaging works of Objects of Common Interest, the studio founded by architects Eleni Petaloti and Leonidas Trampoukis. Based between New York and Athens, the creative duo pursue a decidedly uncommon approach in their search for novel shapes for furniture and lighting. Looking to the cosmos for inspiration, the forward-looking design practice’s latest series, Purple Nebula, reinterprets the dining room through the use of a captivating monochromatic color palette. The soothing shades of purple utilized in the collection references luminescent nebulae seen in deep space imagery and creates an intimate yet striking ambiance. Purple Nebula is a continuation of the studio’s efforts to craft sculptural furniture and homeware with highly nuanced colors and translucency. The duo’s Poikilos exhibit for Nilufar in 2023 featured objects from floor lamps to a dining room table developed with an iridescent resin that resulted in furnishings with an ethereal quality.
