Design at large - 2018

Design Miami/Basel
Basel, Switzerland

In the occasion of Design At Large edition, curated by photographer François Halard, Nilufar has been invited to present the first iteration of the exhibition Lina Bo Bardi Giancarlo Palanti -Studio d'Arte Palma 1948-1951 , currently ongoing at Nilufar Depot as launched during Milano Design Week 2018. The exhibition is a quintessence from the collection of furniture designed by Lina Bo Bardi and the Estúdio de Arte Palma, founded by the Italo-Brazilian architect and Giancarlo Palanti. The pieces embody a keen historiographic investigation conducted by Nina Yashar with the support of Instituto Bardi / Casa de Vidro.

As affirmed by the gallerist - who has meanwhile been appointed founding member of the new International Committee of the Institute warding the work of Lina Bo Bardi - "Lina Bo Bardi represents the apex of a multidisciplinary approach. Her work is the perfect synthesis between innovation and the subsistence of cultural roots. Pioneering projects characterized by a strong humanistic and anthropological connotation, an history of architecture and design made even more prestigious by the scarce production."
