For the first edition of NOMAD Venice Nilufar is delighted to have the opportunity to celebrate the glorious history and contemporary verge of one of the most noble and enchanting cities in the world. Venice, historically reputed for being the Italian door to The East and nevralgic crossover of the most prestigious goods yet global stage for The Biennale, deeply embodies Nilufar’s cosmopolitan approach to curating and collecting. On the top floor of Palazzo Soranzo Van Axel, gallerist Nina Yashar stages a fine selection of Chinese antique rugs in conversation with contemporary designs by Massimiliano Locatelli and Martino Gamper whitin a kaleidoscopic ensemble of furniture representing the value of narrating stories from all places and ages to create relevant and dense living scenarios for our times.
Fine Murano blown glass vessels by artist Domitilla Harding return to their original place of manufacture to participate in the rediscovery of one of the most exceptional crafting techniques of all times. Last but not least, Nilufar is honoured to unveil the hidden highlights of them all: unique Body Ornaments designed by artist GianCarlo Montebello.
