Chez Nina Ep. I
«Chez Nina» is a special place, a private club with a unique atmosphere that adds colour to the night.
Named after Nina Yashar, the club was designed by architect and designer India Mahdavi as a celebration of Nina’s great passion for India. Sophisticated velvet benches and two tone glass coffee tables were especially designed for the space – harmoniously contrasting with the geometric silk wall created by celebrated French wallpaper manufacturer de Gournay.
“The spaces are defined by an amazing blend of rounded shapes and specifically designed graphic motifs”, architect and designer India Mahdavi said, “it’s the perfect place to listen to Satie while sipping a long drink.”
An intimate atmosphere where rigorous geometries meet feminine, sinuous shapes: backrests recalling the iconic Charlotte armchair design are accompanied by soft-shaped tables, while precious upholstery fabrics from India Mahdavi’s True Velvet collection for Pierre Frey stand out, along with silk tapestries created by the designer for de Gournay.
An exclusive assortment of lamps and furniture from Nina’s collection adds a touch of elegance: vintage pieces include a rare lamp by Angelo Lelii, Hans Agne Jakobsson pendants, four “Casa e Giardino” armchairs by Gio Ponti, and a fine Joaquim Tenreiro table; contemporary pieces range from a scenic room divider to a selection of stools designed by Martino Gamper, and a colourful lamp by Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt.
